Have you ever been through anger management?

Friday, April 17th, 2009
Simplystunning asked:

I got arrested for assault again- a woman thought that she could talk **** to me and I lost my temper and beat her. The officer that arrested me seemed to think I should try anger management. Do you think I should go through anger management? The first time didn’t seem to work. Maybe the second will?

Would one have to be charged with a crime to enroll in anger management classes?

Friday, March 13th, 2009
Sara The White Thrash Queen asked:

I have come to the realization that I have a bad problem with controlling my anger, and that I might need help for it. Therapy has done nothing for me, because it only really teaches me to deal with feelings from the past, not feelings that I may feel in the future. When I get angry, I just hit the wall – both metaphorically and sometimes, literally. I’ve done severe damage to things, and minor damage to a few people, due to my anger.

I’ve never had any charges brought against me because of it, and the only people I know who have taken the classes have. My question is, can you enroll in anger management classes even if you’ve never had any kind of charge brought against you because of your anger?
